Oh lordy! I know the Monkey's Paw - it first came out when my dad was a nipper and he remembers his parents going to see it and having the willies scared out of them. It's the ominous knock-knock-knocking at the end....

It's a film? I would have died I think if I saw it on screen - I read it in some Readers Digestesque compilation when I was 8 or 9. Then again my imagination was probably more scary! Sounds a bit stupid but I really, really think it was a brilliant lesson to learn. Even though it scared the absolute shit out of me.

I *think* it was before screen and they saw it in the theatre. My Dad was probably about 4 or 5 and he only heard about it and was completely terrified.

oh my god - your poor dad! bless him

I can't look. I really want to but I am alone in the house. It's really not worth it.

oh yes, don't hunny - wait until you are bored in an office somewhere. I read them all this afternoon, and the weather moved in, and my dying basil plant finally totally died, and I was scared, scared, scared.

I LOVE THE MONKEY'S PAW.
I knew you were a good 'un, from the very start. You rock.
